TRABAJOS DE INGLÉS DE ALUMNOS DE 1º DE LA ESO

 A tour of my school

Welcome to Ramón Carande high school. It is fifty two years old. We have more than 400 students.

There is a big playground where teachers can park and we play during our break time. When you enter it, the first thing that you can see is the entrance. On the left there is a library. We do homework, study, read and play there. In the hall there are a lot of classrooms. Our classroom is in this hall. The Technology room is there, too. When you go upstairs you can see more classrooms and the music room as well. In the music room there are instruments that you can play. On the left there are toilets. The Art room is in another hall and the Science lab is next to the secretary office. The Art room is our favourite because it is cool and warm. We love our high school! Come and visit us!

APRIL FOOLS' DAY

What is April Fools' Day?

April Fools' Day is a yearly observance on the first of April during which pranks and silly behavior are socially sanctioned and merriment is supposed to reign. Customary practices range from simple practical jokes played on friends, family, and coworkers to elaborate media hoaxes concocted for mass consumption.

How and where did it originate?

The origins of April Fools’ Day are obscure. The predominant theory holds that it dates from about 1582, the year France adopted the Gregorian Calendar, which switched the beginning of the year from what is now the end of March (around the time of the vernal equinox) to the first of January.
According to popular lore, some poor saps -who out of ignorance, stubbornness or both, didn’t realize that the new year had moved to January 1 — continued to celebrate it during the end of March to April 1. They were made the butt of jokes and pranks on account of their "foolishness."
People mocked them and even put fish on their backs calling them “poisson d’avril” or April fish, meaning they were easily caught (as young fish are).
This became an annual celebration which ultimately spread throughout Europe and other parts of the world.
Whatever the roots for the day, it seemed to catch on in Britain in the 18th century. In Scotland, people would participate in the event, which took place over two days, rather than just one. They would be sent on fake errands and even have signs put on their backs (maybe that’s how the whole “Kick me!” thing started).

¿De qué trata April Fools’ Day?

On a sunny day, a couple of American tourist were walking around Cordoba. They were taking pictures of the monuments.

Suddenly a hooded, on a bike, stole the camera valued at more than $ 2000. I could not believe it was the first day of your holiday and that had happened.

The tourists were to make a complaint to pólice. The police were looking for the robber and did not find him, but did find the camera shattered one kilometer of the robbery.

Tourist discovered what had happened to the camera, but realized that the memory card was saved. They put he card into your laptop and saw that just as the hooded grabbed the camera, had taken a photo. He left his face, so I took her to the station to look for the boy.

In the end I found it and the man had to pay $ 3500 tourist, and was sentenced to two years in prison.

CRIME NEWS
One morning, I went to school when I saw a thief, he was in a store and was stealing an mp3 player. The shop assistant looked at him and realized he was stealing and called the police. Consequently, the thief was stabbed and then he ran off.

After three days on the news the following news appeared: “the thief who landed the music store has killed everything and it shows that he had no conscience”.

Describing a crime scene

When the Detective Connor arrived to the town center, he knew something was happening. It was a warm Friday night and the clubs were opening. At this time on Fridays, lots of people were meeting with her friends.

In a dark street, Detective Connor saw a group of young men. He was hidden when he watched a teenager with drug. Detective Connor was waiting for the others to leave and running behind the suspect.  He took him and put the handcuffs. This man was wearing new jeans, a black jacket and gold rings and selling drug. Detective Connor took him to the commissioner and the police was asking about drug dealing, but there was other person.

When the Detective Connor arrived home, he asked to his daughter if she knew the young man who was selling drug. His daughter confessed that this young man was her old boyfriend. He preferred to be quiet and to come out for this matter.
